P. Buckley Moss Unveils Crooked Road Poster and Limited Edition Print

Galax, VA – Kay Weddle of the Framer’s Daughter in Galax, Virginia today announced the unveiling of “Mountain Harmony - Along the Crooked Road” available as a limited edition print or poster and created by world renowned artist P. Buckley Moss. The print will be officially released during the Galax Leaf & String Festival exclusively through The Framer’s Daughter, and Ms. Moss will be in Galax on both Friday and Saturday to meet her fans and sign her artwork.

“We’re very excited that Pat has chosen The Crooked Road as her latest special edition poster and print,” says Kay Weddle of the Framer’s Daughter. “The Crooked Road has received a tremendous amount of attention and publicity both nationally and internationally and we are happy that Galax is benefiting from this attention and encouraged by Pat’s interest in this very successful economic development project.”

The Crooked Road, “Virginia’s Heritage Music Trail” began as an idea in January 2003. The basis was to generate tourism and economic development in the Appalachian region of Southwestern Virginia by focusing on the region’s unique musical heritage. “The Crooked Road” now includes ten counties, three cities, ten towns, five regional planning districts, four state agencies, two tourism organizations, and a large number of music venues. Although the trail is focused on the uniqueness and vitality of this region’s heritage music, it also includes outdoor recreational activities, museums, crafts, and historic/cultural programs.

The Crooked Road limited edition print, “Mountain Harmony - Along the Crooked Road” features local musicians and Mary Guynn’s Galax cabin. The poster features a similar scene with the addition of the Crooked Road and its venues at the bottom. The print will be limited to an edition of 500 and will sell for $75.00. The poster will sell for $50.00 and The Framer’s Daughter is offering a special framed event poster for $99.00.

“Galax is fortunate in many ways,” says Tourism Director Chuck Riedhammer, “We have been blessed to receive national and international attention for our cultural heritage tourism and this is just another gift we should be thankful for. The Crooked Road has brought Galax a tremendous amount of attention and tourism revenue and we are proud that Ms Moss has chosen Galax for the official release of this print and poster. We are anticipating a quick sell-out as Crooked Road merchandise is a hot item right now and I don’t expect this will be any different.”

Ms. Moss will be in Galax on Friday at the “Author’s on Grayson” event from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. to sign her series of illustrated children’s books. She will be at The Framer’s Daughter on Saturday from 10: 00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. to sign her prints, posters and any other artwork purchased during the event.
